Is that a tilt-shift photo? It makes the house look like a model.

Maybe it's because of the mozaic tiles... Subliminally (to me, at least), they make me think of a lo-rez 3d model, with obviously repeated textures.

Something along those lines would have been my second guess :)

It's an odd effect, whatever's causing it.
