BC Rich favors those who can deal with necks as thick as a tree. It's like Baby's First Metal Guitar. Should have gutted the pickups out of my Bronze series though, those were nice. Shame the neck warped over time but that's what I get for practicing in a garage.

The BC Rich Beast I played a while ago wasn't actually too bad.

The guy I bought my Ibanez from had a couple of Jacksons. They were, indeed, rather shiny.

Yeah BC Rich is really more The Affordable Metal Guitar, if anything. I just can't stand those thick necks, I have short fat fingers. Bar chords are not in my vocabulary.

They're certainly not a precision instrument, although the pickups do sound a bit sweet. (Although, in some cases I guess it's something to do with the weight/sustain issue - what I call Gibson Syndrome - It weighs a ton but sounds amazing...)

I found that the neck/fingerboard on Jacksons and Ibanez are comparable, and only wish I could afford a Marty Friedman signature Jackson...

I've alwasy loved them. Had my first BC RIch Bitch in 1989 and have had warlocks and a mockingbird. I've always found the action really low n springy and the necks sturdy. Jacksons, I've always found flimsey and thin...can't stand them

It's interesting that the 'artist page' is just a load of links...we're clearly meant to think that these artists are keen enthusiasts for novelty guitar-carriers, but there's nothing that definitively states this.

I own a Warlock which I bought in 1997. I have tried to sell it and failed (it was returned - "not as advertised"). It hasn't got a serial number. One of the microtuner screws is missing. It has chronic fret buzz, 1st string 3rd fret. But I love it.

It has a surprisingly good clean tone though. Try turning all the distortion off and add a bit of chorus. Lovely.
