Got some more Good Sleep last night.

I still feel a little muzzy, but infinitely happier.

Also, I didn't drink yesterday at ALL. It was necessary, believe me.

Although I'm going to be drinking TODAY. heh.

Just one of the small, stupid fucking things I did while drunk out of my face was to delete this LJ. I really do hate the way an LJ can be a ground for cries for help and attention... it evokes that kind of behaviour from me when I'm down, and frankly, that's pathetic... but deleting it was probably the most fucking stupid example of that. SO, perversely, I've undeleted it and am going to try to use it ... I don't know ... not "responsibly", but "not as a fucking dumping ground", I spose. heh.

RANT INCOMING!

After the debacle with the industrial community page, I thought I should open my eyes a little, and see what everyone else listens to that enjoys the industrial genre.

So, I downloaded a whole slew of:

Apoptygma Beserk
Suicide Commando
Wumpscut
and
VNV Nation.

Now, I'm going to piss people off...

With the exception of Wumpscut, I personally thought that:

a) These bands are fucking SHITE.
b) They are NOT fucking industrial

I'm not trying to be elitest here, they just fucking AREN'T industrial.

We call that stuff Cyber Goth or Techno Goth over here, and so it fucking IS.

It's basically fucking TRANCE (and not even hard trance in most cases) with a REALLY DEPRESSED, MOPEY GOTH singing (or moaning) over the top.

What the fuck's so industrial about that?

No distortion... no interestingly fucked up sounds... no metallic instruments clanking against each other (which surely defines industrial to me)... FUCK!

Suicide Commando was the best of the rest, I spose, hence me playing it the other day.

But as for the Oh-So-Popular VNV Nation... do me a fucking FAVOUR.

Well, if that's industrial, I don't know what the fuck I'm classed as, and I'm fucking WELL depressed at the state of industrial today.

Sheep on Drugs. Now THAT'S fucking industrial.

You perverts.

Anyway, I'm going to master a few tracks, then go talk with a mate about putting together a live set and finding an alternative way to get my T-Shirts made and distributed in the UK, as I think the last deal has (sadly) pretty much fallen through for a number of reasons. Then I'm going to see some metal band my mate manages. Might suck, but I'm still on the self-expansion trip. I've become musically insular. Heh.

One last thing: If you disagree with my comments on industrial music, then feel free to put your point across, and if you have anyone you can recommend to me that is HARD and INDUSTRIAL and GOOD (and NOT fucking trancey + gothey), then I'm all ears. I have 6gig of mp3 player to fill up... and right now, my pants are very much NOT bulging with the sound of metal.

aahhHHhhh.

I've just been informed that they're not industrial, they're EBM, which is a term I never DID fucking know the meaning of, and apparently is the rest-of-the-world's equivalent of what my mates and me were happily calling "Cybergoth".

... about which I feel the same was as I do house music: I quite enjoy dancing to it when I'm off my face, but I can't be fucked with listening to it at home... it just doesn't DO it for me.

So I spose my rant should have been aimed at the people who made me think those bands were industrial, and not at the bands themselves.

Ah, heck, I'm getting wimpy in my old age...

YOU'RE ALL FUCKING WRONG!

LET'S ALL FUCKING BURN!

BRING IT ALL DOWN!

[hahahahahha... now that's more like it.]
