Animosity?

Supposedly, the Greap has been on the recieving end of a threat of physical violence.

I'm not getting in to the Killing-Miranda-bashing fest - I don't know them or their music and I'm not into band-bashing where avoidable, but according to Greap, following the recent Phildo vs Teqkiller slag-fest on uk.people.gothic and Greap's joining the fray, he's been warned that KM are going to make sure he "has a nasty fall down the stairs" at Slimes this weekend.

I sincerely hope this is all just bollocks because:

a) I like Greap

b) I like the scene in particular for it's lack of this kind of violent bullshit ('cept when I'm talking big about battering Uncle Nem for shit reviews, 'course... ;) )

c) If he gets hurt, it will necessitate some very real and violent reprisals, none of which will be entertaining because... Oh, I don't know... WE'RE NOT IN THE FUCKING PLAYGROUND ANY MORE.

So... I'd ask the following:

* If you know Greap and are Sliming, keep an eye out for the cheeky little fellow. Life wouldn't be the same if he wasn't offending shite out of people on a regular basis.

* Should anything actually happen to him, perhaps this is a heads-up of where it originated... and if it's wrong, the people who the finger's pointed at might like to distance themselves from the situation before anyone gets the wrong idea.

This really *had* better just be the usual storm-in-a-tea-cup.

OK.

Re: My last post.

I had thought that words like "supposedly", "if", "should", etc, made it sufficiently clear that all of this was on the basis of word-of-mouth information.

I re-iterate that I have nothing against KM. I don't know 'em. I don't dislike 'em. The fact that I was stating their involvement only as a possibility was meant to be highlighted by my pre-amble about not wanting to slag them off.

Given that I was both angry and worried for a friend when I posted, I wound up coming across more along the lines of threats of vigilantism than a plea for mates to keep an eye out for Greap at Slimes.

The hot-headedness was not intended to be expressed, the main point was meant to be concern.

I wrote it badly because that's how I react when I'm worried about a mate.

So, to re-cap what I really meant:

* It would be a groovy thing if people could keep a spare eye on Greap at Slimes just in case there's any trouble. It would suck to all hell if he got hurt.

* This could all well be utter bollocks and I certainly hope it is - I posted because I'd rather be shot down in flames for being paranoid than hear a mate got damaged.

* I appologise for naming names. This is all on hearsay and I didn't mean to shit-stir. Ignore the bluster and the negative side, the main point should have been "Keep an eye out for the feller, would you? Just in case."

I did, contrary to popular interpretation, mean well by opening this particular kettle of fish in public.
