*sniff*

it's a little contrived, but it has to wrap a lot up.

and, thankfully, the ending is less severe than that in Mostly Harmless, which apparently, Adams wrote while quite depressed. This one is .. well, go listen :)

Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy - Quintessential Phase 4 (final episode, final series)

'can't really believe it's the last one now. I was really enjoying them. Still, at least I won't balls up the mp3ing anymore.

and, sadly, I guess that's the last 'new material' the public will ever see of old DNA.

unless he does a Tupac, of course.

Next time I get the chance, I shall pour a bottle of whiskey over a dolphin for my homes, Douggie A.

I noticed with interest that the Treo 650 doesn't come with the quite cute (though not ultra-useable - for instance, no hole to use a handsfree at the same time) carry-case that the 600 came with. Obviously, I still have mine, and it fits perfectly, so no biggy.

However, they did provide a "screen protector". Yes, that's right, they'd cleverly substituted a few pence worth of carry case to protect your screen and unit for a fraction of a penny's worth of a piece of sticky-backed-plastic.

This didn't bother me too much, as I never used the case heavily anyway, and I was going to actually buy some plastic to cover the screen after my 600 got a really nasty battle-scar while I was out clubbing one night. I just thought it was a fairly comedic replacement to save production costs.

One thing I noticed when I applied the sticker was that I fucked it up a few times, then, when I finally got it perfect, there were a few apparent air bubbles that just plain wouldn't go away, no matter how much I smoothed 'em down.

This pissed me off - I was at the point of removing the label and going back to an unprotected glass (plastic? I dunno) screen because putting the sticker on had made it look awful.

Then I got distracted by something shiny.

I woke up today, looked at the screen and did a double-take - the bubbles, which more closely resembled a stretch of the plastic (as they were actually white-ish, not just raised) had disappeared completely.

I'm guessing the slightly elastic nature of the plastic meant that overnight, it pulled itself into shape and relaxed around the bubbles.

So now, my screen's protected and looks just great.

Three cheers for a cheap piece of plastic :)

heh

GET OFF YOUR 'EAD - GET SPACEY

65 minutes of oldskool goodness, featuring a bunch of tracks I always sandwich in to an oldskool set.

It's not beatmatched, just gently eased from one track to the next ... which frankly sounds better than some of my drunken sets...

This is a partial reconstruction of a tape I made aged 17 (ho ho ho... ten years ago) .. the (much beloved) tape broke, so I "repaired" it with sticky-tape... which got jammed in a tape player, practically wrecking the thing and causing a few points at which the tape flipped and I got to hear the opposite side backwards. Most trippy.

With the power of Das Interweb and my aging vinyl collection, I've pulled together most of the tracks I was missing (getting the William Orbit Dub mix of Killer was a bitch) - there's a few missing still, but I've enjoyed listening to this little lot so much I thought I'd put the mix up.

'Scuse the cheesey title - at 17, I think that's pretty much what I was doing, accompanied, no doubt by some 8.4% cider (I wasn't into the joys of drugs back then...)

Tracklist:

01: Adamski / Seal - Killer (William Orbit Dub)
02: T99 - Nocturne
03: The Hypnotist - Pioneers of the Warped Groove
04: The Hypnotist - This House is Mine
05: Tigers in Space - Wait 4 Me
06: Tigers in Space - Untitled Revolution
07: Joey Beltram - Mentasm
08: Joey Beltram - Mind to Mind
09: DJPC - Inssomniak
10: Moby - Go (Rainforest Mix)
11: John + Julie - Double Happiness (Shut Up - Be Happy!)

Running Time: 65:28

If anyone has any alternate mixes of T99 - Nocturne or Inssomniak, I'd be much obliged.
