rrrrr.

another late night... well, they all are now :)

We've firmly established a shift system for the evenings, now. Liz tires and goes to bed after a last feed/change/whatnot about 10pm, I pick up the next few feeds/changes/copious bouts of shushing until he kicks up again about 3-4am, at which point, if I've run out of bottled milk, it's bed for me and Liz takes over again, with me usually sleeping entirely through anything else until about 9am.

That's a solid 5-ish hours a night each, and for the sake of rotating my sleep pattern to the same place it is half the time anyway, I ain't complaining (and Liz seems cool enough). I'd hate to take her shift, I'd just be dead on my arse, but she's just the same with my shift, so it's a pretty sweet deal. In the mean time, I'm chewing through comedy tapes like there's no tomorrow. I'm going to have to get more stuff to keep me entertained off those internets.

Had a lovely visit from Richard and Jen today, and Rich took some pictures, so I may have to make with the Cute-Splodey again soon as I see those :) He was, as you might expect, faced by someone with a greater-than-VGA camera, resolutely stroppy, but I think Rich got some good snaps :)

Roight. Typed this out with the wee guy on my shoulder (again - he lives there quite a bit), so it's time to pop him down again and wait until he inevitably does his squarking thing... change... feed... cry... shush... play... change... feed... shush... sleep... cry...

I just watched what I assume is a repeat of yesterday's episode of Doctor Who - I've not followed it recently (I got excited about Eccleston, his marvellous gurning and flirtation with bisexuality, but that was already waning before the current chappy took over).

Nice effects, shame about the plot being a bag of incoherent shite!

I suppose this is a show known for varying in quality quite drastically from episode to episode, but this one just had all three of us watching (me, Liz and Tom, not Corben ;)) turning to each other and saying "What the fuck? That's crap!" throughout.

For anyone who's been following, was that representative of recent episodes? Should I bother catching another one?

Should I take this opportunity to send my own scripts to the DW team?

It's just that I recently fed some tramps a bag of crayons, then handed them A4 to use as toilet paper and what they handed back was simultaneously more sophisticated in its sub-plots, more aesthetically striking without the over-use of CGI and featured dialogue that the cast could most likely deliver without a level of over-acting that would look hammy in a production of Oliver Twist from the South Hackney Home for Retarded Kestrel*.

What? Me? Grouchy? Lashing out at the first thing I see after I wake up to the sound of crying after an opportunistic nap? Cock off.

* Trust me, these birds cannot act.
