database nation
Nov. 20th, 2007 03:39 pmDisc with 15m bank details lost - that's the sort of thing we can expect with ID cards, then. Oh, but, of course, we can trust them to get that right. There won't be a loss of EVERYONE's ultra-personal security data. Ever. Oh, no. Never at all.
And, of course, when there is one, that loss won't constitute a massive payload of credentials to be used by criminals / terrorists / whatnot, to do all the nefarious things we're so keen to prevent them doing.
Mmmm, massive, centralised databases, run by idiotic beurocracies. Definitely the way I want my data looked after.
TWATS!
edit: OH, and fuck this falling-on-your-sword crap:
"His decision to take on this accountability is an example of British public service at its best"
There's a MASSIVE fuck-up and the standard practice is that someone resigns, takes the blame and fucks off into the distance, the cheerful scapegoat. Bollocks! Stay! Fix the fucking mess! Preside over changes to ensure it won't happen again!
Somebody fucks up and you resign and that's "British public service at its best"?? Well then. That's why we're fucked.
