"Captain!"
"Yes, what is it?"
"The Doing It Wrong siren! It's sounding again!"
---
Here's how it happened:
* I'm googling for stuff about Jimmy Savile
* I google "Clunk Click Every Trip", find YouTube video of the advert
* I notice what looks like a track called Clunk Click Every Trip
* That video is crap, but there's more linked to it, I wind up at this Peverelist + Appleblim track - "Circling"
* It's good! I want to buy it! I google their stuff and shops stocking them mostly sell 12" records, some CDs, no mp3s
* Amazon sells DRM-free mp3s... Hurray!
* But not to me. Because I'm not in the US. FUCK YOU.
* Beatport sells mp3s! And to people in the UK! And there's more of them than on Amazon!
* But they're quite a bit more expensive (£1.12 per track instead of about £0.70) and half of them are locked so that you can only buy the album, not the individual tracks. FUCK YOU.
* I google for torrents. Not much luck with seeding as they're quite niche artists.
* I search on Soulseek. BINGO.
* I download, and order an appropriate CD to support the people who made the music I just acquired.
---
How it should have worked:
* Find artist on YouTube clip
* Link straight to numerous partners with terms from the clip's title (say Amazon)
* Buy mp3 in format you want, without region locking.
... I should point out that I'm doing it wrong, too, because it seems that my own album is not available as mp3s on the UK Amazon site. The only track involving me you get is a remix I did for I:Scintilla. Oops.
