Kind of a new track, but it's cheating because really it's more like a proof of concept, a processing of existing material with a new toy.

This is a 14min ambient drone piece, very chilled and relaxing (if you like ambient - and I do):

DeathBoy - Chlorine - Test Flight 01

but here's the trick:

This is the 1st 40 seconds of Chlorine, stretched out at varying speeds to last 14 minutes, using this absolutely fucking fantastic piece of software:

PaulStretch

- it's free, it's open source - he provides Windows binaries and source code... there's a version that sort of works for mac, but you're welcome to port it yourself, obviously.

This thing is an ultra-time-stretcher... on one setting, it goes up to 1000x the original length... on the EXTREME setting, it goes wayyyy beyond that, so the point where you could make a 5 minute track last for years.

Obviously, you can take this too far, but basically, if you put most tracks into it, the result sounds like a kind of dark but soothing alien beach, with tones washing in and out, harmonics creeping across the sound at a glacial pace.

Of course, some people will hate this, but I think it's fucking incredible.

From now on, I can go to sleep listening to an ambient dronescape made by taking a random madonna record and stretching it to 500x original length :D

I realise that I'm not entirely normal, but I do love this age of magic and wonder we live in, sometimes :)
