having said that one needs to keep in mind that major blood scares and procedures were only properly put in place during the 80's. Without having read the entire Canadian Red Cross case, I don't know when it took place. But for the time, they may have been doing their due diligence.
My mother got Hep C from a blood transfusion in Germany, shortly after giving birth to my brother, that would have been late 1980/early 1981.
