Slam? Coo.

I'm sure I have a 12" somewhere called 'The Deep' by either Stakker or Humanoid.

And of course 'Eurotechno' and a dodgy copy of the video for which is was a soundtrack. Which is utterly impossible to watch while straight.

what I liked about those days was that you had the Deep Heat compilations which whilst on the face of it were exactly the same as the TV advertised "BANGING HARDCORE ANARCHOUNDERGROUND SMASH THE SYSTEM LARGE UP RAVE DANCE PARTY (available in Woolworths)" compilations of today and which were indeed 50% chart dance / club 18-30 anthems, but then were always around 50% yer actual underground techno and related classics in the making. The Snowman mix of Humanoid was on volume 1 for instance and your Todd Terry, Juan Atkins and Derrick Mays of the world were quite well represented. Which was not what you`d expect from Telstar but none the less an efficient usage of a chaps paper round monies.

I would toddle off to the record fairs at Cheltenham town hall, ostensibly in search of Big Black rarities, and come back with carrier bags of random 12" records instead.

also, for no reason at all the Martins newsagent in Chepstow had a small woolworths style record section out back and a huge bin of obscure detroit techno, acid house and hip hop 12"s that could only have been cheaper if they were free. This was of course a marvelous thing for a young lad, particularly as in 1988 he was more or less the only dance music listener in the village as it were.

I'll have Sunshine and Brick in a few days, as it's exclusive to Deep Heat 5, which, along with the rest of the Deep Heat collection, I happen to be eBaying for about £2.23 each over the last week.

These will be being ripped :)

aha. I see you trolleyed your vinyl of DH2 also!

I may well be interested in acquiring a CD with .mp3s of all those old bean, a lovely trip down memory lane to when I was a wee nipper raised as their own by a family deep heat compilations.
