To be contrary, this is one of my favorite covers you've done.

The original by PJ Harvey is a stand-out song on an amazing album, and frankly I think you did it justice. You approached it with the same level of honesty.

Too often people try to cover a song and church the hell out of it. Your did it justice, and that's what the track calls for.

Oh, there's certainly something sleazy in the way you sing the song (though a good kind of sleazy), I'd say there's something inherently desperate about that song.

And I think a voice wrecked by whiskey captures that. Which is probably why, when I've got a fifth in me, I really enjoy that song.
