Ace weekend, shitty day
Had a lovely weekend visiting relatives in Devon... Corben had an absolutely fantastic time, tonnes of space to play in, a sea of new faces (our family down there's quite a big bunch) plus a couple of dogs to meet and play with.
We took him to a big indoor swimming baths with a huge shallow area with all sorts of things he could clamber on/around, and he started to get the hang of walking in water (his balance and confidence were very low before), and got a lot better about taking a mouthful of water if he slipped up.
He also learnt a tonne of new tricks about getting in and out of doors and climbing on stuff... making him even more of a handful around the house, but it's really cool seeing him around new stimulus, and how quickly he learns.
Best of all, the relatives said they'd love to see us again more often, so we're going to try to get our arses down there with some regularity. I might have to see if I can press the EEE into proper service as a development deck, as I could go for the whole week, then. Or pick up another laptop.
So, yis. Kick-arse weekend.
Today, though? guh. Am going to try to erase some of it away on the treadmill, maybe lock myself away from the world with videogames and a stiff drink or ten.
