we're hungry, beware of our appetite

I adore Eurochild, and Hell is Round the Corner, and while I knew that Karmacoma and Overcome were different takes on the same track, I knew they shared lyrics, but never really realised how much.
Tracks that I adore. Well, anyway. Well, anyway. well, anyway.
Hell is round the corner where I shelter
Isms and schisms, we're living helter skelter
If you believe or deceive then common sense says 'surely receive
Let me take you down the corridors of my life
And when you walk, do you walk to your preference?
No need to answer till I take further evidence.
I seem to need a reference to get residence.
A reference to your preference to say I'm a good neighbour
I trudge, so judge me for labour,
(The bond on me ensures my good behaviour)
I generally love Massive Attack slightly more, but Tricky, particularly here, manages to be so very fucking grimy and vile and delicious, so much that you want to wash his words off your skin, or maybe just sink down into them.
We're hungry, beware of our appetite.
My stuff, that's similar:
massive
johnny dee
beautiful
disenchantment

Date: 2008-10-25 03:56 am (UTC)Why did I never notice the lyrical reuse? Not that it matters.. it's gorgeous to hear the different ways both songs go. An' I haven't listened to Eurochild for too too long, so thankees for the reminder.
Tricky could probably read the phone book, and still make it sound beautifully grindly filthy.. lush.
And now 'm going to go check out the tracks you've pointed to of yours.. woot!
