US roundup

Oop, didn't finish my USA writeup.
Sunday:
On the sunday, we met Kirsten's family and I got to see the bit of Grand Rapids that Kirsten grew up in, and her old house :)
We had lunch with her dad's side of the family, then drove over to see aunts, uncles and grandparents from her mom's side. They were all very friendly and welcoming, and nobody mentioned that I'm a complete tool and stealing their Kirsten away. Win!
Between the in-laws-to-be, we popped into a few jewellers to look at rings, but didn't buy anything. Afterwards, we returned to Kirsten's place and chilled for the evening, before my last full day in MI.
Monday:
We both worked again, then in the evening, hit the mall, went to a handful of jewellers and picked out rings!
Kirsten's credit cards all CONVENIENTLY failed to work, but mine from another country mysteriously worked just fine. She thinks i didn't notice the elaborate winking between her and the sales guy. I'm onto them.
I picked one in tungsten-carbide (though mine has white gold which is more silvery than yellowy), and Kirsten went for the one on the right, with lots of strands, like branches, almost.

Apparently, if I get in an industrial accident, I'm fucked, as cutting tungsten-carbide off is quite difficult! This could prove troublesome, as I am well fucking industrial, like.
In the evening, we grabbed Amy, Marci, Drew and Nate and headed to a pub, where I drank two preposterously gay cocktails (one of which being a Flirtini!) and filthy yank waitresses "accidentally" put meat on the nachos for me and Kirsten. Again, I pretended not to notice the copious winking and signalling from Kirsten to the bar staff. Hmph!
Tuesday:
Big bag of shit! I had to go home! Well, the flight was in the evening, so I first made Kirsten and Drew baked beans on french toast... which Kirsten liked, but Drew did not... he only ate a single mouthful, bless 'im. So I ate his. Then, for lunch, I cooked us pancakes as I'd been promising to for ages. Soon enough, we had to drive to Detroit, then I was back on the plane to blighty. Again, my customs experience was speedy and polite, and barely rapey at all, but then I did have to emerge into London, which by comparison was rather bleak and unpleasant, frankly.
The End! - by Scott Lamb, 31 1/2.

they are beautiful rings.
Date: 2009-02-20 02:39 am (UTC)we use them at work they look like mini bone saws (and go through it just as easy) and are used in a handpiece, they are faster than dremmle tools but look pretty similar.
