Regardless of how much of a figurehead role that would have been, it would be fucking galling to see the smug, evil bastard leering out from every damned front page for another bunch of years.

I think the Iraq thing is a really sad monumental fuckup on his CV. It overshadows the many good things that happened under his leadership too - especially in the first few years.

That said - his continued statements that "we did the right thing by going in there" will forever mean that, to me, Iraq showed up his weakness and fucked over at least two countries because of it.
