Since the 'war' was 'won' (yep, imagine me doing the finger-quotation marks with a look of disdain), The BBC website has replaced the huge banners that linked to the war news with easter banners and the information about what was the single most reported event in the world and still should be have suuuuudenly become teeny tiny little text links again.

Ironically, worthy of just as much space on the front page is the link "Hussain keeps Test captaincy"...

oh, golly, I am glad that nasty war's over now... so... what's new in the world of cricket?

If I was religous or wanting to play Devil's advocate, I'd point out that surely the death and resurrection of Christ is "what was the single most reported event in the world and still should be" ...

unfortunatly most of the world regarded the war as nothing but entertainment. that self-absorbed thing of not caring as long as it is not happening directly to them, the disassociation thing of it just being another thing on TV and topic to talk about while down the pub, as well of course as the brainwashed thing of believing what the media told them, without seeing the shades of grey. then of course there are the sociopathic types who enjoy seeing others suffer. not forgetting the stupid types who never realised how unlawful and inhumane and unfair the whole thing was anyway. i have ranted about this enough in my LJ though, so i will stop now. have you considered doing some songs about it though?

actually, I started writing a track... "assassin"... the main lyric being "people of america... kill your emperor..." - I didn't get to finish it before the war started, so it seemed kind of pointless.

I may, however finish it off now... 'feel the need to say *something* about it musically.
