A certain Labour MP is the only one to viciously attack anyone supporting the war.

A certain Labour MP accused of taking bribes.

A certain Labour MP suspended from party.

I wouldn't be suprised if they manage to lock him away, too.

If this isn't a fucking clear warning to the entire british parlimentary system of what happens if you cross the line the leaders draw, I don't know what is.

Amusing cartoon on the subject.

Jesus fapping christ... I hadn't read about that... you reckon they're trying to take down media faces that speak out, too?

It sure looked that way.
Prominant musician speaks out, gets busted with extremely suspicious (since recinded) charges.
Careful what you say folks...

I quite frankly do not trust George Galloway. Anybody that goes around claiming that Saddam Hussein is "A good man" is either stupidly naive or upto something.

As somebody recently pointed out, after the second world war squads were out within hours collecting evidence of war crimes from any captured buildings. Several weeks after in the gulf those buildings remained untouched. Presumably the invasion was because Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, he was harbouring terrorists and because of his regeime. So far all we have found is evidence of the cruelty of his regeime. No evidence of any weapons of mass destruction at all. So he either doesnt have any or they are remarkably well hidden. Of course if he does it raises the question of how effective the UN weapons inspectors could have been if an occupying force cannot find them within several weeks of controlling the country.

Not mentioning either the move to try and eridicate Iraqi cultural heritage with people being paid to set fire to and loot national buildings such as libraries and galleries while American troops stand by next door. This isnt random, this is people turning up on coaches with matresses.

I agree with what you say. It is kind of strange that none of these weapons he was alledged to have actually turned up in the end. admittedly the fact that the Iraqi people are no longer under *his* yoke. Wasn't that the point of this entire military action (that they admitted to, anyway.

Nothing to do with Oil, no sir-ee!

Despite the forward fuelling stations for aircraft (with the amusing acronym of FFS) having names like Shell, Esso and Enron.

Must be pure coincidence. heh

The fact that the reporters, not the Coalition, are searching the secret service HQs is a little worrying. I mean, if nothing else, surely there might be some evidence on those all important WMDs and terrorist links in them?

But no, we get reporters finding dirt on Galloway (with an English language letterhead, iirc? Odd...). We get Chalabi, Pentagon stooge #1, claiming he's got evidence of links to the government of Jordan and Al-Jazeera TV (both of which have severely pissed him off in the past, oddly enough...).

But still no interest from the coalition? That's odd.

As for Galloway himself... I think he's sincere. One of those "useful idiots", and probably not on the take. Some of the papers have already pointed out that, going back a decade or two, Scargill was badly harmed by similar (false) claims that he was on the Libyan payroll.

Although he may be gullible enough to have put his local representative in a position where he could be getting money from Saddam and pocketing it, with Saddam thinking he was paying George for things George did for free...

Still, Galloway's right about one thing. Troops really shouldn't obey illegal orders - and if they do, they're potentially liable to prosecution. That's been established for almost sixty years now.

Oh absolutely, it seems that there is little concern about collecting evidence of anything. How valid is any evidence when quite frankly every man and his dog have been in there first and looted the place? When journalists are getting to these places before evidence has been collected you have to wonder.

I think at best Galloway is misguided, naive and sensationalist. Certainly calling for Arab nations to rise up was pouring petrol on an already inflamed situation that was in danger of destabilising.

What choice do the troops have? If they obey orders they are liable to prosecution, if they dont they are court marshalled for insubordination. I suspect criminal prosecution against either America or Britain unlikely as the punishments would be effectively unenforcable.
