Pending Draft Legislation Targeted for Spring 2005
The Draft will Start in June 2005
There is pending legislation in the House and Senate (twin bills: S 89 and HR 163) which will time the program's initiation so the draft can begin at early as Spring 2005 -- just after the 2004 presidential election. The administration is quietly trying to get these bills passed now, while the public's attention is on the elections, so our action on this is needed immediately.
The article suggests that the reasons for this are because if "Rumsfeld's prediction of a "long, hard slog" in Iraq and Afghanistan [and a permanent state of war on "terrorism"] proves accurate, the U.S. may have no choice but to draft."
Can this be true? They carry out an unnecessary "war" (invasion) for global powerplay reasons and to monopolise control of diminishing fossil fuels. They sell it to us as revenge against the people that crashed planes into their buildings by bear-faced spin and blather. They sit back as their soldiers die needlessly. Find no WMD. Fuck up the 'handover plan' (oh, bum, did we leave the region terribly destabilised? darn...) Sit back while attrocities are committed. And if this smokescreen of fear can be perpetuated, and we can be expected to swallow continued lies perpetrated to ensure we live in a state of abject terror at all times, and so are suitably cowed as to let them steam roll over our lives, planet and future, they're going to make it mandatory for their citizens to fight the imaginary war, too?
I must admit, I'm trying to think of what they could do next.
Nukes. It'll have to be the nukes to get worse than this.
