VOTE

I am hugely and fantastically pleased and impressed with Livejournal.com running the following front-page.

http://www.livejournal.com/

It's said that young people don't vote, and that's really sad. Go grab some coffee, wait in line, SMS your friends, read a book, play Gameboy.... then vote. It'll take a couple minutes and you won't feel like a mere observer to our democratic process.

GO

AND

VOTE.

Doesn't have to be who I'd vote for, but please, for the sake of, and to give the respect that is due your nation, go and vote. People died so you could, people were denied it, and the definition of freedom that the US enjoys has to, by any definition, hinge upon your freedom to vote. Go. Scribble on paper. Cast. VOTE. And make sure every damn person you know does, too.

Thank you.

Fucking stupid of me NOT to link to something of my own other than a gig for a while, given the ludicrous relevant factor:

Sovereign Entities - DeathBoy vs Bush

and, previous Mperia.com chart-topper (despite being basically me getting my vicious incoherence RIGHT ON), a refined version (fuck knows how) of which will be on the forthcoming album, and which I was (foolishly) previously charging for:

SHUT UP - DeathBoy

Election Protection 2004

- Clear, easy to understand information about voting rights in both English and Spanish, a really good resource.

Also, a (toll free) number to keep with you in case someone tries to prevent you from voting is:

1-866-OUR VOTE.

"a hot line set up by the Election Protection Coalition, a group that was formed to identify and stamp out attempts to disenfranchise voters, especially in predominantly black and Latino precincts around the country.

On Election Day in November, the coalition expects to have as many as 25,000 volunteers, including 5,000 lawyers, available to provide assistance to voters who encounter irregularities or feel they are not being treated fairly at the polls. Voters who call the hot line will immediately be put in touch with volunteers in their local area.

The coalition is also urging people to call the hot line now if they are aware of efforts to discourage or prevent people from voting."

Have a great day, you lovely people - we're watchin' with quite some anticipation.
