When the arguments for bringing the range down run along the lines of:

"In modern Britain the most dangerous place to be is in your mother's womb. It should be a place of sanctity"

... and high-resolution photographs of foetuses in wombs, then seriously: fuck off.

Something doesn't have a right to life, and to override its mother's because AWWW! IT WOOKS JUST WIKE A WICKUW BAYBEEEEE (at the least, if that were valid, logically, severely deformed babies would have less right to live: of course, they don't) - that's the most pathetic, idiotic, childish, backwards thinking in the world, and it incenses me that advances in science that bring us increased in-womb imaging are abused to strengthen the pro-life position.

I am, in case you couldn't guess, very, very pro-choice indeed.

I'll bet the same tossers you see harping on about the potential for suffering pain couldn't give two fucking wet slaps about the amount of suffering that happens daily, on an enormous scale in animal slaughter.

The rights of the mother come first over something that is no more developed than a chaffinch at this stage. I don't go out randomly killing small animals that can demonstrably feel pain, but I don't lose my shit over their loss, either. A foetus is not an individual life, with independent rights until it's in my fucking phone book.

Wicked! Start the day with a rant about abortions and politics, and I have the Jehova's Witnesses round later on, wonder what they have to say.

After that, I shall go out and start a fight at a pub about sport! The perfect day :)

It's been recommended that I get a weekly column somewhere, but I think Charlie Brooker's pretty much got me covered on all bases there. Bastard. I'm going to moan about it. On FACEBOOK! Hurrah!

In actuality, I'm going to have a shave, go for a run, burn through my dayjob's tasks, go for another run, then get fucking drunk and write music.

In unrelated news, I think I might actually be gay for Derren Brown.

Since watching the live show, I've downloaded some of the TV series (which is good, but not a patch on seeing it live) and am reading his book - which has some arrestingly useful memory tricks (I know these exist elsewhere, it was just a pleasant bonus to an already interesting book that he describes some really good techniques).

But I'm also catching myself thinking he's quite attractive.

Two self-outtings in a week. Maybe I'm just all-of-a-jumble because I'm actually queer.
