HELLO!

I'm Scott DeathBoy and I'm a cockney*

And this evening, I'm going to try to foist some projects I've been involved with on you!

Most recently, I produced Xykogen's album, "Terminology"

If you have a few minutes, then please do listen to:

No Heaven (video here)

Hashishin

The full album is here.

They, like me, believe in giving the music up for free, while running a physical release.

If you like my stuff, but not theirs - and in fairness, they are a massive bunch of whores, then you might enjoy:

No Heaven - DeathBoy remix
Mutate and Survive - DeathBoy remix
Anuism (DeathBoy featuring Mog Xykogen)

I love Xykogen because they are a bunch of my mates making proper fucked up music.

The lyrics are riddled with Amon's pre-post-probablistic-punk psychology-punk, Mark Eris' dirgey too-fucking-clever, from-the-gutters-of-Stoke-Newington-to-the-inside-of-your-mind rambling, psychotic wonder, to the electro freakishness of kaida's squealings, to Mog's ever-unexpected pure-water-in-a-post-nuclear-world vocals.

"Better living, through chemistry, when it's plain to see that the drugs aren't working"

I did, initially, have to ask if they were just cheekily writing about me then getting me to produce it. Because the themes and the angst are the things that apply to us all. The words are the things that claw at everyone's head.

The music is itchy and uncomfortable and hasn't found its fucking place yet, because it flits from making you ask things about yourself and your addictions, passes through pop-culture references demanding that you put your FUCKING hands in the air, then bounces back into multi-cultural existential angst TO THE SOUND OF AN OVERDRIVEN AMEN BREAK.

I'm clearly interested in selling Xykogen to you: I spent a year recording and producing this album for them. CLEARLY it sounds fucking awesome.

But the only thing I want to convey to anyone is "listen to the whole fucking album", give it a listen-through.

This is a musical movement in embryo, a band that's itching and hatching.

The music is free, there's fuck all to lose by giving them a listen.

If you don't like it, tell us. Comment. Review. Post.

If you do like it, tell us (doesn't half encourage 'em), copy CDs to people, propagate the links.

Here's some new fucking free music, full of fire and thought and shouting and drums.

LISTEN.

* I'm obviously not a dirty, filthy Cockney. I am from the Midlands, where we drink proper beer and have no need for chimney-sweeps.

As much as I wind up being a right maudlin bugger when I drink, and despite the fact that he hasn't touched his drumkit in weeks, and chooses this morning to start playing me a crazed breakbeat to my hangover, the absolute best thing in the morning, that I get every single morning, is Corben laughing, stumbling around and shouting stuff, and grinning and pouring a cup of water on my head.

:)

It's a powerfully strong trick nature plays that makes me completely love this little bastard to pieces :)
