Mentalist Weekend Update

Fucking hell, what a weekend - I'm *still* exhausted, but with a kind of post-coital, pleasant knackeredness, so that's ok :)
Saturday was a grin, but I was disappointed that yet again we hit technical snags... the sound upstairs at the garage always seems to be our enemy... which is even more annoying when the other bands seemed quite acceptible indeed, speshly the ELR cheps (once the vox were turned up a bit, mid-second-song). Still, I'm told the sound was reasonable out front except when we all dropped a bollock in Barbed Wire, so that's good enough for me.
Sunday was wicked fun also, enormous loving to Void Construct, Kat5can, Ross Goteki, Mike Manuskript, Faetal, Tracer, the Sepia and the makers of vodka and coke.
Good sound, good larf, 'got to see Kat5can again, got fucking hammered.
One of the wicked things about gigging - when you get to play the same bill as bands you adore (ELR and Kat5can are right up there for me - if we could have had Tarantella Serpentine too, I'd have been over the moon). Kick-arse.
My only regret is me and Phil, smashed out of our heads, doing fucking **awful** renditions of Crack Baby to a bemused Martin, who looked ready to give us a slap, in the back of the van on the way home.
Whoops. That'll be the booze, then.
Anyways, big thanks to everyone behind the scenes and sweaty, maniacally grinning hugs to those that came to see us ;)
