On the subject of 60s, 70s and 80s revivals [livejournal.com profile] squiddity says:

"Why don't we just cut to the chase and have a now revival? We could save ourselves several decades of bad haircuts."

that tickled me, rather :)

At the risk of being lynched, I actually think David Beckham has done wonders for the hair of the British male public! That styled mohawk thing - RAAAAAAAAAARRRR! :D

Nooo - it has made alternative male totty spotting an absolute nightmare.

You see a tall well-coiffed mohawk in a crowd and when you get to it, more often than not it now has a TopMan, bling-laden townie underneath it!

*smirks* A cute bit on revivals was done on Absolutely Fabulous...

"Get your clothes back from the dry-cleaners -it's a revival..."

Cute.

I'm the new poster boy for the naughties[0].

[o] Erm, does this decade have a name yet? I like that one, but it does not seem to have caught on.

I always figured "turn of the century" worked with 1900-1909.. doesn't quite seem to work for "the present"

Hmmm...

...somebody else who thinks that we live in the Acceleration-Age...where faster gets faster until, inevitably, it catches up with us and we meet ourselves coming down the other way

I put some instant coffee in my microwave...I nearly went back in Time!

Personally I think the "bubble time" theory explains it all. There is no such thing as lateral time, merely the brain trying to make sense of the progress of matter from singularity to entropy.

Hence, in a very real sense, Now is also Then. So Queen have just released "seven seas of rhye" and The Darkness have released "permission to land". And yet the apparant time differance, in fact any differance at all, is merely flaring neurons in our brains trying to make sense of the paradox that is matters devleopment being very difficult for limited beings like us to comprehend.

Thus They (Queen and the Darkness) are in fact one and the same thing. Any slight differances are a trick of the brain, the worlds biggest but least reliable computer. We are trapped in a dimensional flux. Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to 1973.

I'm so confused about now - no floaty cars or jet packs so I'm lost on the hair thing altogether!

BTW - much appreciated if you could check out [livejournal.com profile] red20's posted tune on his last lj entry and give him constructive advice. He is a 17 year old talented Sheffgoth who needs a bit more experienced advice on tunesmithing than a DJ and a drum'n'bass star can offer.

TIA and will buy you a beer at Whitbah if you can help!
