Neat visual illusion.

Not one of the kind that makes your eyes explode, either, this one makes your mind skip a beat very subtly indeed.

I discovered this by accident when doing some Photoshopping. My blue Eye was suddenly a distinct shade of pink once I'd removed the surrounding colour. It's quite a cool facet of human interpretation of colour, though.

There are quite a few visual perception tricks the brain plays. Pretty fucked up when you start analysing it. Like the blank spot in your vision where the optic nerve joins the retina, your brain just fills in the gap.

Or dreams. Go think about it, when you dream, everything you experience is something you have either remembered or created. Imagine the processing power needed to create an entirely new universe from modular memory chunks that appears perfectly real. It's insane really to think how little you can do conciously and how much you can do unconciously. Anyway... :)

I can't see it, even when I really concentrate on it. They always look different. I guess my glass is half empty or something. At that point I have to decide whether it's bad that I haven't emptied it or bad that I only have half of this glass left.
