Hello Kitty Bluetooth Headset - because 'tooth headsets don't already make you look sufficiently fuckwitted.

Mark Eris delivers the goffick smack down in full effect (and later, here) - he didn't mention the fashion side of things, but otherwise, he pretty much hit the nail on the head for me.

That said, go download then buy some really rather good music from Killing Miranda, you filthy bastards. The new album's out and there are three tracks available for download.

NaD's keyboard tells him the obvious

The latest "Shit Happens" is verr funny :)

Lastly, and by no means leastly AND BY NO MEANS WORKSAFE, some cartoon porn that goes TOO FAR. I do not have the words. But I do have a semi.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwww!

More to the point, what sick, twisted mind came up with 'Crow from MST3K' porn?

I'm a bit confused as to why the bluetooth headset appears to be in some sort of cosmetics box.

Completely offtopic, but I hear you have a lot of ebooks.... can I leech from you?

I do - should I email a list?

there's about a gig, half of which is PDF stuff, the rest liberally distributed among the formats.

either that and/or I could find you the bookwarez server I used to hammer for 'em ;)

Excellent :)

A) you could mail me a list, I'll choose some and leech from you (mail: null@invalid.name)
B) point a web/ftp server at the directory and I'll leech the ones that look good
C) point a web/ftp server at the directory and I'll leech the whole fucking lot
D) I'll send you a blank DVDR.
E) you find the bookwarez server and I leech the lot from there :)

Your choice really, I'm flexible, when I'm the sharer I usually go for B but thats 'cause it's easiest for me to setup.

Thanks matey

Hello Kitty enthusiasm is amusing.
The whole ironic childishness that can be marketed to soooo very easily.
I can hear marketing execs rubbing their hands together every time I hear people proudly proclaim their love of a particular brand, for the brand's sake.
As if everything with 'Hello Kitty' is on it because it's so coool and Japanese and cute etc...
Also funny hearing how *everyone* was doing before *everyone* else was.
No actually.

I tend to take this (http://www.darryl.com/brushes/denise.gif) view on Hello Kitty.

The bits of Mark's post that have good enough grammar to be parsed, I do agree with. It's frustrating trying to patch the rest together :)

Everyone else seems fine.

If I was publishing this professionally you`d find my Grammar is as good as the next man. What you`re seeing is instead my lack of concern for proof reading when the audience is simply on LJ. Or more precisely, the precise amount of effort I`m willing to devote to grammar fascists once I`ve nailed the thing out being zero, although I will usually correct any typos after the event that cloud the meaning in my eyes.

Ok, let's rephrase that: I can't figure out what you mean for a large part of it. The parts I do understand make perfect sense and I hope it gets nailed into many heads.

What would be really nice is if that post turned into some kind of an online "Why your subculture sucks" kinda FAQ :)

Hmm. In that case I`ll reread it later sober and see if it does still make sense.

Of course, it has something to do with the fact that I've read almost nothing of what you've ever written previously, so some things you say (eg Magpie tendency) are a bit alien to me (magpies steal shiny things?), and I'm not used to the way you put things across.

Sorry though, I wasn't meaning to sound abrasive. I've now had my first 3 cigarettes and 2 coffees of the morning and systems are back on-line.

magpies steal shiny things?

Yup. A perfect metaphor for the lifting of musical genres, fashions, literature etc. as far as I can see.

I am NOT going to look at those cartoons for a second time! Er, did I say "second time"? I meant...uh.... "ever". ;)

And as far the goth rant goes, well... I'm rather sick of the whole OMGWTF YOU CLASSIFIED BAND "A" AS GENRE "X" WHEN THEY ARE CLEARLY GENRE "Y"!!!!!!11one shebang that I have heard many times over. Maybe I am old and jaded, but I just prefer to get on with doing whatever the hell I want to do and listen to whatever the hell I want whilst I do it.

I still wouldn't call half the popular bands "goth" by any stretch of the meaning, but I would call them "music that is popular with goths". Like VNV/Apop/Assemblage23 - I like them all, but it sure ain't goth.

I *think* I get the point that Mark is making, but I'm just not one for dissecting the whole music scene. And I still don't know what the term "magpie" is all about. Oh dear, I've started a sentence with the word "and" - I am getting lax in my old age!

Right, enough of my musings - I'm off to have a shower! I'm sure you chaps all wanted to know that :/
