I've heard the name thrown around for quite a while (ok, friends have probably smacked me right in the face and screamed "LISTEN TO BRAD SUCKS, YOU WILL LOVE HIM"), but while checking out Reaper (a non-crippled-shareware cubase-a-like... worth looking at if you're after a sequencer and are a bit poor), I noticed it starts with a cut-down version of one of his tracks, "Making Me Nervous".

And it's damned catchy.

He reminds me of Beck quite a lot and Bran Van 3000 a bit, which is a Good Thing. It's got a deliberately lofi feel to it, but is actually well produced. Seems to know what he's fucking doing, either way.

So, if you fancy a (free) album that's a bit indy, quite guitary, and bloody catchy, go and download I Don't Know What I'm Doing by Brad Sucks. It's very good.

"hint hint"

what, apart from selecting a license that suits me, need I do to make my stuff overtly CC?

That's ok, then. I was concerned I'd have to retag everything, and that's a fucking colossal task.

Reaper?! Jeez! There's a blast from the past! U4ia would be proud of you, my son!

You'll be suggesting ScreamTracker next! *grin*

Mind you, ResRocket's DRGN wasn't too bad an idea. Shame they couldn't get it together coding-wise.

Evidently Brad didn't consider what booking a band named "Brad Sucks" might be like when he named it. He wrote (somewhere) that more than once he's had conversations with booking agents that went like:

"So your band is called Brad Sucks?"

"Yup."

"And you're Brad?"

"Yup."

"So you suck?"

"Yup. Wanna book us?"

I am now obsessively hooked on Borderline from that album.

Thank you!

It's the verse that starts out "You're the only girl I love/I'm on many kinds of drugs" that does it.

This song + new guitar arriving today has made the sun shine somewhat.

Or preferably a less hippie-like analogy, but I'm somewhat drunk and can't be bothered to think of one.

I can't stop listening to this album now. It's like taking all the parts I like from Beck and The Butthole Surfers and cramming them into one cd.
