BUT I WANNA BAYYYYBEEEEZ.

You know he's thinking "God has punished me for putting it inside that."
Whereas she's very clearly just thinking about delicious pies.

Woman keeps rare conjoined twins

Watch the video (it's only short).

The HORROR.

(not the twins, which will obviously die, but the mother).

[edit]: As [livejournal.com profile] dj_alexander spotted: I like how a "staunch Catholic" has had sex out of wedlock.

Ms Chamberlain decided against this after talking over the matter with partner Mike Pedace, 32.

-- That's seven years they've been trying, out of wedlock, btw. But apparently, they're engaged! Woo!

Lucky for the kids that they won't survive really, with a potential mother like that.

Fucking hell..

Dear gods. I..gah!

*twitch twitch*

Well, if one is eating the other, maybe it'll do the world a favour and start chowin' down on mother dearest, so she can stop being a plague upon the Earth.

The cynical in me thinks she is only keeping them for the publicity and sympathy. And good god, she's 25? I look younger than her on a good day! (Not to mention it looks like she got makeup tips from Divine!)

[identity profile] xiphias.livejournal.com 2009-01-12 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I dunno. If I was pregnant with a fetus (which, right there, would be one for the medical books, me being male and all) which had a one-in-five chance of survival, I think I'd go for it. One-in-five ain't good odds, but it's good enough to attempt.

i have an urge to do impressions of that wowman, but there's no-one hear to listen to me.

it's possible the babies will live http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abigail_and_Brittany_Hensel

though if they do, it might be wise to rehome them with a family with more than one braincell between them.

Funnily enough I was just at the hospital mentioned in that report today. I promise it wasn't my radiation that caused such deformities, they all look like that in Portsmouth. Can't speak for the babies condition though.

She's 25!? 0_0
woah

Regardless of the question whether you should keep "defective" children or not, and this is a really bad thing to say, not just PC but discriminatory but looking at the parents, are you surprised their offspring isn't healthy?

If something like that happened to me, I don't know what I would do. It's not just a case of survival but of quality of life and there is no way a two-headed child could have that even if it were to function perfectly. It (and their parents) would be in social hell.
"Standard" conjoined twins have two mostly separate bodies and while stuck together for their lives, they develop unique personalities and that's entirely acceptable, as are other disabilities that can be recognised during pregnancy but this is not right.

On top of the not being married bit, she's 25 and they've tried for "over seven years" to get pregnant? A bit young, hm?
Also, not being able to conceive for so long should have been a hint to stop trying to procreate.

What a way to start my week, seeing that.
*shudder*

[identity profile] the-siobhan.livejournal.com 2009-01-12 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel bad for them. They say they've been trying for kids for years and the first time she gets pregnant they get told the children will probably die.

That must be a horrible thing to go through.

[identity profile] deviblue.livejournal.com 2009-01-12 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
25?!?! Fuck RIGHT off...if shes 25 then I'm 12 years old.

anyway she couldn't give a shit about the unborn kids all shes intrerseted in is the money from the papers for the story and the 15 mins of fame.

If the kids survive she'll be whoring them out like a circus freak show and if they die she'll be selling the story of her grief to the highest bidder

[identity profile] megashrike.livejournal.com 2009-01-12 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
7 years to get preggo? The sperm probably got scared and ran off, either that or Darwin was right and natural selection was trying to kick in.

There are so many factors to consider in a decision like this... You want babies but you have to understand that a baby like that will come with a much bigger duty of care. You're Catholic, but is it better to abort a fetus which probably still has a tail than to give birth to child who is likely to face surgery and more surgery, medical complications and a diminished quality of life? There's a one in four chance that it will die - will you be able to say goodbye once it has a name without knitting tiny bonnets and building a creepy-ass website about your 'tiny angel'???

I doubt they've given it that much thought...
