Cycle and Phase

coo... there's a track name / idea...
'Read Perf's comment about adjusting his phase for work, etc, something I'm painfully aware of...
I seem to be fighting a constant battle just to keep my work-hours starting at lunch-time, let alone making any headway towards my goal of getting back into phase with the rest of the working world.
I know staying up till late mucking about on the net and / or writing music doesn't help (nor does drinking, as it makes me like a walking sloth-creature the next day), but I really can't seem to get a hold on it.
Woke up 8am the past two days... monday, I got up and about until about 1... then had a nap until 2, then carried on until about 5, then had to have another nap, I was that tired.
Today, I ate my toast, said allo to a few people on IRC (from my bed) and immediately fell back to sleep until 12pm.
SO, for now, rather than worrying about getting up early, I'm going to make an effort to be in bed for midnight at the *latest*, so that my two-hour reading-in-bed-habit only drags on till 2am. If I can do that for a few weeks, then I'm going to try the getting-up-earlier thing again.
If anyone has any habits / tricks / magical drugs of splendour (other than club-drugs, caffeine and taurine) they want to recommend for making you wake up and STAY awake in the morning, then please do comment...

Date: 2003-01-07 05:40 am (UTC)I wake up at 08h45 every (work) day and even if I go to sleep after 04h00 i can still wake up easily, supposedly due to this body clock malarky.

And "Having just seen a fit wench on the tube" glory.
And, indeed "here's 20p for that packet of polos which, via their tubular relationship to a cunt give me the horn" glory.

From:exercise?
Date: 2003-01-07 05:51 am (UTC)I usually just muck about with some weights, try sit-ups or even shadow kick boxing...depends what I'm in the mood for :)
The only problem with it is that although I know it works, I'm not always in the right frame of mind to *start* it...
Re: exercise?
Date: 2003-01-07 05:57 am (UTC)Actually, it's a really good idea.
The closest I get is walking to the shop for tabs in the morning, which, combined with the fresh air works quite well, although, again, the motivation to DO that is often lacking.
I *could* however, try doing half an hour of Dancing Stage each morning... that would not only wake me up, but increase my 1337 DS skills.... hmmmMMMm ;)
