This is actually Currys / Dixons / PCWorld's advert for the fact that Windows 7 is out!

Am I the only person who doesn't think the message here is "Windows 7 won't run on your existing PC, better throw it away and get a new one at great expense"?
Way to undermine an actually decent MS product in an attempt to shift your own overpriced hardware!
Classic!

Date: 2009-10-22 01:44 pm (UTC)No, the REAL message is, "When you install Windows 7 on your machine, it will fuck things up so badly that you will have to throw away the entire machine and start over."

Date: 2009-10-22 08:29 pm (UTC)I love it for it's potential, but I've tried Ubuntu, Red Hat, Suse, Debian, and others... it's just not a replacement OS for anyone who isn't on the fringe of computer users.
and OH GOD the hardware issues...
It's a *GREAT* secondary OS tho.

Date: 2009-10-22 03:03 pm (UTC)"You don't need a new PC, but we're hinting that you do as we like to sell expensive PCs, and we hope you're too stupid to understand that you don't. It's legally watertight as we can say that the advert is supposed to suggest that Windows 7 turns your existing PC into something new."
