Damn. Now I feel guilty for not updating all last week. Although I did just relocate across the Atlantic to NJ for the next three months, so I have an excuse.

NaNoWriMo!

Dooooo iiiiiit. All my upcoming paper deadlines are for before the start, so I should be able to fit the NaNoWriMo stuff in where I'd normally do the paper writing.

Still got to choose which of my crazy ideas to go with.

Got lots of inspiration at worldcon.

I tried to do it last November, but November was busy as hell; I had an idea, but I don't think it was the right kind of idea for NaNoWriMo, or in fact a long story. I tried an independent one in July, but again failed dismally due to lots of job application and interviews; I wrote a couple of short pieces that I posted to LJ and should be reviewed at some point.

I'd like to try again. TBH if I can get over the 10k mark this time I'll be pleased. I actually have the basis of an idea this time that should be a bit more character driven, if I can be disciplined enough to set aside the time.
